Colfax junior-senior hybrid-learning on

October 15, 2020

COLFAX — Colfax Junior-Senior High School brought back students Oct. 5 for in-person learning in a hybrid model.

Students in grades 7-12 with last names in the first half of the alphabet go to school Monday and Tuesday, followed by online for everyone Wednesday while the school buildings are cleaned. Then students in the second half of the alphabet go in-person Thursday and Friday.

Extra classroom space with room to spread out comes from the new science labs.

Grades 7-12 musicians are still able to use the band room as only half of the band comes to school on the same day.

For the Jennings Elementary kids, the band uses the auxiliary gym – spacing out six feet or more across the floor.

“My band looks a lot bigger,” Band Director Mike Morgan said.
