Summoned for tool theft

COLFAX—Mark Scott of Roy has been summoned to appear in Whitman County Superior Court Oct. 16 on charges of possession of stolen property and possession of methamphetamine.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, Scott was stopped by Whitman County Deputy Tyler Langerveld July 25 for suspected connection to a wire theft case. During a search of the vehicle, Dpt. Langerveld discovered contractor grade Dewalt brand tools which Scott claimed belonged to his boss and he was borrowing. The deputy allegedly also discovered and seized a meth pipe during the search.
