Need supplies by Sept. 8; Jennings prepares to open
August 27, 2020
COLFAX--Jennings Elementary officials have released more information for parents about the start of the upcoming school year. Many areas will be status quo with school days, times, bus routes and PE, music, band, library times the same as usual.
In addition to mask wearing on buses and in the school building, students will have their temperatures taken. The school asks parents to do their best to take the temperatures of their students prior to getting onto the bus. Nurses will take each student’s temperature on the first day of school. Students who are not feeling well or have a fever are to stay home.
On the first day, students will bring home health attestation forms for parents/guardians to fill out and return with the student each morning.
Students who are dropped off at the school will enter by the front office door. Students who ride the bus will enter the school at designated doors at the backside of the school.
In his letter to parents Aug. 26, Principal Andrew Borders advised families not to worry about having school supplies for the first day of school; having supplies by Sept. 8 will be just fine.
The first day of school is Aug. 31 for first through sixth grades with kindergarten starting Sept. 3. The back to school night scheduled for today has been canceled.
The supply list can be found on the school’s website http://www.csd300.org in the Jennings Elementary School section.
