Sandra Knott

Sandra Susanne Knott Boone (age 74) passed away July 30, 2020, at her daughter, Kathleen, and son-in-law's home in Vancouver, Wash. Sandra was born March 31, 1946, in Colfax, Wash., to Harold R. Knott and Agnes G. Smick Knott of Endicott, Wash.

Sandra graduated from St. Paul's School for Girls in Walla Walla, Wash., in 1964. She attended Pacific Lutheran University, then transferred to Washington State University, where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Education in 1969. During her college years, she had the opportunity to travel around the world, visiting faraway places such as Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Finland. After college, Sandra worked as an elementary teacher in Longview, Wash. Sandra met Donald A. Boone (now former spouse) while at WSU, and they married in 1971. They lived in Gresham, Ore., for three years. In 1974 they moved to Endicott, Wash., where they farmed her family's farm and raised their four children. She later resided in Walla Walla, Wash., for 15 years, and she lived her final months in Vancouver, Wash.

Sandra's children meant a lot to her, and she loved spending time with them throughout her life. She encouraged her children to take music lessons and found great satisfaction in their accomplishments. Sandra appreciated literature, children's books, classical music, old movie classics and musical theater; she shared these with her children. She enjoyed attending plays with her family. She excelled in English and verbal skills, she easily remembered interesting details and dates. She was a great conversationalist and communicated unique ideas. She liked to discuss all sorts of topics, including popular culture, film, literature and the arts. Sandra enjoyed swimming as her favorite form of exercise throughout her life.

Sandra is survived by her children, Jennifer Boone Young (Scott) of Vancouver, Wash., David Boone of Walla Walla, Wash., Emily Boone of Moscow, Idaho, and Kathleen Boone Alderson (Matt) of Vancouver, Wash .; four grandchildren, Evan Young, Meghan Young, Ava Alderson and Maximus Alderson; sister, Nancy Knott Light (Donald) of Princeton, N.J .; one niece, and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her sister, Constance Kay Linet Knott, and her parents.

A graveside service will be held at the Endicott Cemetery on Friday August 7, 2020 at 10:00 AM. Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax, WA is caring for the family. Online condolences may be offered at http://www.bruningfuneralhome.com.
