Dahmen Barn Wood Show 2020

Artisans at the Dahmen Barn hosts “The Wood Show 2020.” More than 20 wood artists from the Inland Northwest will display woodwork from traditional to the avant-garde during the month of August. Exhibit opens Saturday, Aug. 1. Some of the artists will be present during the opening 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The exhibit continues through Aug.t 30.

Every two years with the help of Jim Christiansen, a premier wood turning exhibit is curated from woodworkers creating functional and decorative unique objects some from the most beautiful varieties of wood. Christiansen, a retired school administrator from Moscow, Idaho, has mentored many aspiring woodworkers. Artisans at the Dahmen Barn has hosted the exhibit every two years since 2012 and each year the quality and the complexity are outstanding. Beginning to internationally represented wood artists are represented.

Techniques include traditional woodturning, carving, pyrography, laminating and enhancing with epoxy resins. All techniques highlight the natural organic qualities of the different species of wood the artists collect from all over the world.

Artisans at the Dahmen Barn is a 501C3 non-profit art organization, located at 419 N Parkway Uniontown. Current hours are 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday – Saturday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sundays. Some of the exhibit will be on our website http://www.ArtisanBarn.org.
