Port approved for extension

COLFAX – The Port of Whitman County has received permission from county commissioners to extend the time in which it has to spend funds. The Port was granted $1,000,000 from the county's .09 fund to support rural fiber extensions to a transmitter sited in the county.

Originally, the money was supposed to be spent by Aug. 2020. However, the fiber extension project will not be completed by that time. Port staff submitted a letter to Whitman County Commissioners requesting a one-year extension. The reply from county commissioners approved an extension to spend the funds until Aug. 5, 2021....
