County parks set fire restrictions

Fire Restrictions went into effect July 13 for all Whitman County- managed Parks and Trails, including Kamiak Butte, Wawawai Park, Klemgard Park, and the Bill Chipman Palouse Trail. Campfires and smoking on trails are not permitted within park boundaries.

Fireworks are also banned.

Cooking with charcoal briquettes or gas grills are still options.

All park visitors are asked to be prepared and vigilant; always keep a bucket of water and shovel nearby when cooking....
