Colfax advertises for chief of police

COLFAX – The City of Colfax is currently running an ad to hire a Chief of Police.

Bruce Blood has been serving as an interim chief since being appointed May 1 by Mayor Jim Retzer. The mayor can only appoint for a four-month period, which gives the city until the end of August to fill the position.

Blood told the Daily Bulletin he does plan to apply for the position.

“There’s a lot of work that needs to be done still,” he said. Blood noted improvements the police department has already made and wants to continue along with that process.
