Hitting a deer while driving on Whitman County Roads is an ever real and present danger; some times of the year more than others. Those periods of increased car versus deer occurrences are right after harvest and our current season, according to Public Works Director Mark Storey.

Early summer and after harvest are the times of year when the Whitman County Roads Department receive the most calls for disposal of deer carcasses.
