Jumper concern dissolved

COLFAX – A report of a potential jumper was resolved without incident Tuesday evening. City, state and county vehicles responded to a welfare check just after 4 p.m. May 12 at the rail bridge over SR 26 near Morley Road. The RP expressed concern that a male in his 20s was standing on the rail bridge, looking down as if contemplating suicide.

Colfax Officer Perry Tate responded to the call. He stated the man allegedly was out for a walk and had stopped to watch traffic go by. Tate responded with a WSP trooper. When a third vehicle arrived, this from the county Sheriff's Office, the man decided to leave the bridge.

"He was definitely social distancing," commented Officer Tate.
