Hill-Ray annual meeting

Hill-Ray Plaza held its 31st annual meeting with equity holders and residents Feb. 18.

Administrator Gary Young opened the meeting with Ann Emerson giving a prayer and Kathy Wride leading everyone in the flag salute. This was followed by introduction of board members, Maintenance Manager Dean Hall and Head of Housekeeping Linda Erway.

Young then gave a list of residents that had moved away which included Harold Sauer, Pat Hartman, Jerry and Shirley Simmons and David Townsend. Residents who passed away in 2019 were Thor Sinkbeil and Trent Heinlien.

New residents to Hill- Ray are Mikki Tague, Chuck and Norma Brownfield, Don and Barbra Henderson and Dr. Robert Tulin.

Three board members were elected to new three-year terms: Dan Morris, Gary Beyhimer and Marcia Tempel.

Marcia Tempel also presented information on the work of the Womens Council. Administrator Young discussed the projects accomplished during 2019. He also stated since changing to two meals a day, along with special dinners, the food department is feeding a large amount of people. With that, he said we are now in search of a food director.

Jim Britton of KUP reviewed the financial report and announced the amount that would be paid out to equity holders this April.

John Kraght, attorney for Hill-Ray, shared some information on other facilities like Hill-Ray and what was happening in the marketplace.

President Dan Morris shared past history and the future goal of Hill-Ray Plaza in meeting the needs of the people of Whitman County and of those wishing to come there. Young adjourned the meeting and the board met again that evening and voted Dan Morris as president and John Kromm vice president for 2020.
