REALTORS offer scholarship

Whitman County Association of REALTORS is once again offering a $1,000 scholarship to graduating Whitman County high school students who will attend Washington State University in the fall. Planting canceled

Due to Governor Inslee’s Stay At Home order and the Rosalia Library’s closure, the Tree Planting/Giveaway scheduled for April 4 at the Rosalia Library and Thunderhawk Ranch will not take place as scheduled.

Neill Public Library moving to online services only

In accordance with guidance from local officials and Governor Inslee’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order, Neill Public Library will no longer have staff working onsite. The library has suspended home book delivery services and has moved exclusively to online and remote services. All material due dates will be extended until the library re-opens and no overdue fines will be charged. The library asks patrons to keep their borrowed items with them until the library re-opens.

Pullman transit to adjust bus lines

Pullman Transit has announced it will make service changes effective April 1 through May 10. The move comes in response to reduced ridership and support of Gov. Jay Inslee’s Stay Home order while continuing to provide essential services.

The Crimson Express and Gray Express routes will operate with one less bus, running at 30 minute frequencies. The Coffee Route and Coug B Express route will be discontinued as their stops and travel paths overlap with other routes.

Services that will remain unchanged include the Blue, Silver, Paradise, Loop, Coug A, Wheat and Lentil routes. Weekend services will also remain unchanged. Beginning on Sunday, May 10, summer Community Service will begin as scheduled, with service available from 6:30 a.m. to 6:45 p.m.

Thompson makes dean’s list

Seth Thompson of Palouse was named to the dean’s list at Pacific University for the Fall 2019 semester. The dean’s list recognizes undergraduate students in Pacific’s College of Arts & Sciences who earn a grade point average of at least 3.5.
