Internet usage slows during stay-at-home order


COLFAX – On Wednesday, March 25, Whitman County IT Director Lance Bishop sent out a press release regarding Internet issues in the area, while many are practicing social distancing and staying home.

“I imagine that with so many people sheltering at home with nothing to do but play online video games and watch Netflix, this is taxing the individual internet providers,” said Bishop in the press release.

He said with more people working from home the Internet speed is slowing down and is starting to affect government and public safety functions.
