Food for Fines nets $700-plus

About 108 residents donated more than $700 in non-perishable food and toiletry items for the 20th annual Food for Fines drive. Donations came in throughout Whitman County with little over half of those not attached to the waiving of library fines. Food for Fines is held each February when area pantries report more people struggling with high heat bills and difficulty feeding their hungry families.
