Fishing trip on Pampa Pond

March 19, 2020

Last weekend, Neil and Liz Appel’s older children, Josh, Noemi and Isaac, were guests of grandparents Dick and Helen Appel. Grandpa Appel took them all fishing at Pampa Pond near LaCrosse on Saturday. They all caught their limits. They enjoyed the fresh fish for supper.

Members of the Broeckel clan gathered at the home of Tom and Doreen Riedner Saturday to make sausage. Participants included the hosts, the Riedners; Denise Kendall, Tacoma; Brian and Angela Broeckel, Dusty; Jeanette Nolan, Greg and Gwen Nolan and Jason Nolan, all of Colfax; Pam Beasley, Waitsburg; Zach Beasley, Walla Walla; Austin Beasley, Moses Lake; Patty Wieber, Brett Wieber, Bobby and Jamie Halbig and son Max, Andrew Nolan and daughter Murphy, all of Spokane; Hanna Monsen, Colbert; Matty Forrest, Brisbane, Australia; and John Allyn and Judy Murray, Bellingham. At dinner that evening, the group was joined by Sami BeDell and Sawyer Meek, Walla Walla, and all celebrated the March birthdays of Brian Broeckel, Patty Wieber and Murphy Nolan (St. Patrick’s Day birthdays), Judy Murray, Austin Beasley, and Pam Beasley.

After the day of making sausage, overnight guests at the home of Karen Broeckel were Patty Wieber, Brett Wieber, Bobby and Jamie Halbig and son Max, all of Spokane and Matty Forrest, Brisbane, Australia. Joining the group for breakfast and wrapping of the sausage Sunday morning, were Jeanette Nolan and Gwen Nolan and granddaughter Murphy Nolan. All returned to their respective homes that afternoon.
