Residual and Noxious Weed

Whitman County Public Works Road Department is requesting any persons in Whitman County wishing to designate a portion of a Whitman County Road right-of-way as a "NO-SPRAY" area, please contact the Public Works Office at (509) 397-5200 for information and agreement applications. Verification and confirmation of all existing "NO-SPRAY" areas is necessary. Failure to confirm your "NO-SPRAY" area may result in that area being treated with residual and noxious chemicals. Please apply by March 16, 2020 for residual and noxious weed control on all roads, gravel and paved.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

The Whitman County Commissioners will conduct a public hearing to be held in their Chambers, Whitman County Courthouse, Colfax, Washington on Monday, April 6, 2020 at 10:45 a.m.

The purpose of the hearing is to review community development and housing needs, inform citizens of the availability of funds and eligible uses of the state Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and receive comments on proposed activities, particularly from lower income persons residing in the Whitman County area.

$101,203 is proposed to be available annually to Whitman County and the Community Action Center to fund public services that principally benefit low-and moderate income persons in Whitman County.

An overview of the proposed public services will be available for review at the Whitman County Commissioners' Office (400 N Main Street, Colfax, WA 99111) and Community Action Center (350 SE Fairmont Road, Pullman, WA 99163) on Monday, March 30, 2020 beginning at 9:00 a.m. Comments may also be submitted in writing to Whitman County Commissioners at 400 N Main Street, Colfax, WA 99111 until April 6, 2020 at 10:30 a.m.

Comments on the County's and Community Action Center program's past performance and use of their 2019 CDBG Public Services grant will also be received.

The County Commissioners' Chambers is handicapped accessible. Arrangements to reasonably accommodate special needs, including handicap accessibility or interpreter will be made upon receiving 72-hour advance notice. Land Surveying Services

The Town of Oakesdale, Washington (pursuant of Chapter 61, Laws of 1981 and RCW 39.80) is inviting statements of qualifications and performance information from firms interested in providing professional engineering and land surveying services for the 2020-2021 calendar years in conjunction with Town sponsored projects. Projects for which services are sought may include water and wastewater system improvement planning and design, street, sidewalk, and storm drainage improvement design, grant and loan applications, environmental documentation, land surveying, geotechnical design; construction engineering and contract administration for projects that may be funded under a variety of federal, state, and local funding programs.

Qualifications must include general firm information, experience resumes for the above listed types of projects or services, experience with state and federal funding programs, resumes of key personnel, a typical project approach, and references. Statements of qualifications will be reviewed and placed on file for the 2020-2021 calendar years, and used as the source from which to select one or more qualified firms from whom a detailed proposal may be requested for any specific project. PROJECT TITLE: Rosalia MUNICIPAL AIRPORT RUNWAY

REHABILITATION

Sealed proposals will be received for the Runway Rehabilitation project, addressed to the Rosalia Municipal Airport, 110 W 5th St, Rosalia, WA 99170 until 2:00 pm local time on March 26, 2020, and then will be publicly opened and read. Bids received after the time fixed for the opening will not be considered.

A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at the Rosalia Council Chambers behind the Rosalia Library, 402 S. Whitman Avenue at 10:30 am, local time March 10, 2020 for those interested contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.

The project consists of approximately 12,500 SY of Runway Rehabilitation. Pavement rehabilitation will consist of crack sealing and application of a seal coat, along with reapplication of pavement markings.
