Timberwolves book split as league winds down

After battling to a 26-26 tie in the first half Friday night at Asotin the Tekoa/Rosalia Timberwolves stacked a 10-point lead in the third frame and fought off a late rally by the Panthers for a 58-54 win. Garrett Naught and Riley McLain each hit 17 for the T-Wolves, and Anthony Gehring finished with 11.

TR returned to the Rosalia gym for the Saturday round and were out-aced by Reardan 65-55. Garrett Naught hit 23 points against the Indians who were led by 35 points from Zane Perleberg.

Tekoa/Rosalia girls were dropped 46-28 in the league round at Asotin Friday with Kayla Paine hitting 19 for Asotin.

Tori McLain finished with eight points for Rosalia, and Meghan Billings hit six.

Saturday at Rosalia, Reardan rolled out a 71-39 win over TR. Reardan led 41-10 after the first half, but TR came back after the break and scored 20 in the third frame. Elise Wilkins led the hosts with 19 points.

The Timberwolves will make a short trip north to play Upper Columbia Academy today to finish out the NE league season.
