STATE OF WASHINGTON

Sealed bids will be received on the following proposal by the Board of County Commissioners of Whitman County, State of Washington, at its office in the Whitman County Courthouse in Colfax, Washington, until 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time, on February 18th, 2020 at which time they will be opened and publicly read. Handicap access may be obtained by the Mill Street entrance to the Courthouse.

Each bid is to be separately sealed in an envelope addressed to the Board of County Commissioners with the name of the bidder and item bid, including time and date of opening written plainly on the outside of the envelope. (NO FAXES ACCEPTED.)

The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to accept the bid which in its estimation best serves the interests of Whitman County.

NOTICE OF CALL FOR BIDS FOR COUNTY PRINTING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Whitman County Commissioners will, up to the hour of 10:30 a.m. on the 6th day of April 2020, receive sealed bids for county printing for the year July 1, 2020 and ending June 30, 2021. Bids will be opened at 10:30 a.m. in the Commissioners' Chambers, Whitman County Courthouse Colfax Washington.

Said printing, including all heads and sub-heads, shall be set solid without leads, and all heads, or sub-heads, shall be set in the same size type as is used in the body of the printing; each bidder is required to specify the size and type and width of column he will use should he become the successful bidder therefore, and each bidder shall also accompany his bid with a sample of the style, size, and kind of printing he will reproduce; together with a statement of his price per column wide, at which time he will do the County printing and also with a copy of regular current issue of his newspaper, and a sworn affidavit setting for the actual bonafide paid circulation of the bidder's newspaper in Whitman County as of March, 2020.

Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check in the amount of $1,000.00 payable to the order of the County Treasurer, the same to be forfeited to Whitman County in case the successful bidder fails to enter into a contract and furnish a surety bond or certificate of deposit at a Whitman County, Washington Bank or Savings Institution payable to the Whitman County Commissioners in the amount of $5,000.00 within ten days from the time of awarding the contract; said bond or certificate of deposit to be approved by the Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners before it is filed.

The contract will require the successful bidder(s) to furnish a copy of each newspaper to two (2) County Departments, free of charge (Commissioners and Human Resources) as a condition of its bid. A copy of the contract can be obtained by contacting the Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners.

All bids must be filed with the Clerk of the Board on or before the time specified in order to be considered, and will then be opened by said Board at its office in the Whitman County Courthouse at Colfax, Washington. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids for any reason whatsoever.

2020 Election Due Notice

Pine Creek Conservation District adopted a resolution at their December 11 th , 2019 board meeting setting an election for an expiring elected board position on the Pine Creek Conservation District Board. The election will be held March 11, 2020 at the District Office, 401 S. State Route 27, Oakesdale, WA. Polls will open at 1:00 PM and close at 6:00 PM. Registered voters who reside within the Conservation District boundary are eligible to vote. Elections procedures are available at the district office. 2020 Elected and Appointed Board Member Positions Due Notice

The Pine Creek Conservation District is pleased to announce an opportunity to contribute to conservation and your community by serving on the Board of Supervisors. Supervisors are public officials who direct the activities of the Conservation District. Although they serve without compensation, they are eligible to be reimbursed for appropriate expenses. Two positions are available, one elected and one appointed. For the elected position, interested candidates must submit a completed Candidate Information Form to the district by the filing deadline of 5:00 PM, February 12, 2020. For the appointed position, interested candidates must submit a completed Appointment Form to the Washington State Conservation Commission no later than March 31, 2020. The Town of Fairfield, Town of Latah, Town of Rockford, Town of Spangle, Town of Waverly, Spokane County Fire District No. 12, City of Tekoa and the Tekoa Parks and Recreation District No. 6 have signed an interlocal agreement for the Small Works/Vendor and Consultant roster. They solicit any licensed contractor, vendor or consultant desiring to perform work or services for any or all of the above listed towns and cities. Projects may include work or equipment for the town/district/city’s sewer, water, street or bridge facilities, or any other project or services as required by the town/district/city.
