Talk slated on 'What Wireless Doesn't Want You to Know'
January 30, 2020
A presentation on “5G: What the Wireless Industry Doesn’t Want You to Know” by Dr. Martin Pall will be Wednesday, Feb. 5, 7 p.m. at University of Idaho Law School Courtroom, 911 S. Rayburn Street, Moscow, Idaho.
People have a broad range of concerns about the fifth generation (5G) small cell wireless network and antennas that many cities are preparing for. These include the health effects of the electromagnetic radiation – layering on top of the existing 4G (no biological tests have been done), municipal liability, privacy, security and hacking potential, the aesthetics of clutter in the public rights-of-way and federal government regulation over-reach.
Both Moscow and Pullman are writing new regulations for these antenna installations that telecommunications companies will want to deploy. The Pullman Planning and Zoning Commission will continue its hearing on 5G regulation Feb. 26, and Moscow staff have just presented their draft regulations to their Planning and Zoning Commission.
While at WSU, Dr. Pall did research on environmental medicine, including chemical effects, which led to his interest in electromagnetic fields (EMFs). Since his retirement in 2008, he’s continued his research in his areas of interest. He published his first paper on EMFs in 2013.
It was he who recognized the primary mechanism by which electromagnetic fields cause changes in our bodies. His recognition was based on research that had previously been done, but he was the first to make the connection.
Two of Dr. Pall’s papers on electromagnetic fields submitted to special issues of Journal of Chemical Neuroanatomy and Environmental Research, respectively, were cited to be their most commonly downloaded articles.
In 2015 he was one of two keynote speakers for the Building Biology Conference (International Institute for Building Biology & Ecology) and was voted the favorite speaker at the meeting by participants.
Palouse Environmental Sustainability Coalition (PESC) and Palouse Area Citizens for Safe Electricity are sponsoring his appearance.
