The funeral service for Adam Michael Smith, 35, Palouse, will be Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, 1 p.m. at the Garfield-Palouse High School gymnasium. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery, Palouse. A potluck dinner will be served at the Palouse Community Center after the service.

Born Feb. 21, 1984, in Artesia, Calif., to Marc and Theresa Smith, his earliest years were spent in California and Utah, before the family moved to the area in 1993.

He attended school in Potlatch, Idaho, where the family lived until 1996. They moved to Palouse, and he attended Garfield-Palouse Middle School and high and graduated in 2002. He played football and basketball and enjoyed history and art.

After graduation he worked for local building contractors before starting his own business two years ago. He and his fiancé, Andrea Gonzalez, and her son Jackson had started their life together in their new home in Palouse.

Adam loved playing guitar, drawing, reading and camping.

Surviving, in addition to his parents and fiancé. are his brothers, David, Anchorage, Alaska; Scott, Pullman, and one sister Michelle Stoddard, College Station, Texas.

His family requests memorial donations go to an alcohol and drug recovery program of the donor's choice.
