January 16, 2020
Colfax girls sustained two big defeats this week to finish up the first round of league action with a 2-3 record. The Bulldogs were crunched 64-31 Saturday in a home game with the LRS Broncos, and again 66-39 Tuesday at Spangle against a veteran Liberty team which is rolling on a 12-1 record.
Lancer senior Maisie Burnham powered up for 30 points in the Tuesday game which saw the hosts roar to a 32-18 lead at halftime.
Colfax was led by Kierstyn York who finished with 16 points. Coach Corey Baerlocher credited York with playing a strong inside game against the Lancers.
York and Perry Imler each pulled down six rebounds against the Liberty team which graduated three seniors off last year's team.
One the the big drawbacks for the Bulldogs in the Tuesday trip was turnovers.
