Stubbs and Harder named scholar nominees

December 26, 2019

Lauren Stubbs and TJ Harder, both of LaCrosse, have been selected by Washington State Superintendent of Public Instruction as nominees for the 2020 US Presidential Scholars Program in Career and Technical Education award.

They are among five students selected in the state of Washington.

Both Stubbs and Harder were also recently selected as WSU Regents Scholars.

The US Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964, to recognize and honor some of our nation’s most distinguished graduating high school seniors. In 1979, the program was extended to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional talent in the visual, creative and performing arts. In 2015, the program was again extended to recognize students who demonstrate ability and accomplishment in career and technical education fields.

Each year, up to 161 students are named Presidential Scholars.
