December 12, 2019

David Stueckle flew to Pensacola, Fla., Nov. 22 to attend the promotion ceremony at Elgin Air Force Base for his grandson, Jonathan Stueckle, who was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Also attending the event were Jonathan’s parents, Doug and Cheryl Stueckle, Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho; Jonathan’s wife Becka and children David and Ishmael.

David also visited both Air Force and Navy museums on the base during the time he was there. He left Pensacola Dec. 2 and came home via San Antonio, Texas, where he visited with grandson Nathan Stueckle, his wife Rebecca and great-grandson, two-month-old Jonathan. Jonathan is Stueckle’s eighth great-grandchild. Stueckle returned home last week Thursday.

Laurie and Bill Pitt of Las Vegas, Nev., daughter and son-in-law of Lorraine Scaggs of Colfax, arrived in the area on Halloween and spent a month visiting relatives and friends in Whitman County and the Spokane area. They made their base in their camper trailer which they parked in the shop at the residence of her brother, Loren Scaggs, in Dusty.

They also helped her mother with some chores that needed doing. They returned home Nov. 30.

Blake Heaton was taken to Holy Family Hospital at 4 a.m. Friday morning with an intestinal blockage. He underwent surgery. He was up and walking at the hospital Sunday.
