Noel enters pleas on two charges

Ashley Green Noel, Pullman resident who has been charged in three separate felony cases, entered pleas of guilty in two of them Friday morning in Whitman County Superior court. She entered the pleas under a plea bargain agreement which called for the state to drop charges in the third case.

Green Noel pleaded guilty to a charge of trafficking stolen property and to a charge of possession of heroin.

The trafficking charged alleged she sold jewelry which had been reported missing in area burglaries which were committed by Brandon Smith.

Among the jewelry items sold were fraternity and sorority pins which had been reported stolen.

The jewelry pins have been recovered.

Green Noel also admitted to a charge of possession of heroin on April 18. The arrest report noted officers found heroin in a room where she was residing.

The third charge which will be dismissed under the plea bargain is another heroin possession case.

The plea bargain also allows for Green Noel to be evaluated to determine if she can qualify for a Drug Offender Sentencing Alternative. She has been scheduled for sentencing Jan. 10 after undergoing the evaluation. The plea agreement calls for the state to drop the other heroin possession charge at the time of sentencing.

Green Noel has been in jail here since Oct. 1. She was ordered to jail after several failures to appear in court, as ordered, after the charges were filed against her.

She was represented in court by Attorney Paul Hanes. Wendy Liermain, senior deputy prosecutor, represented the state.
