Rosalia Lions plan Santa stop

Rosalia Lions Club will present its seventh annual free pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Budding Rose Art Gallery in downtown Rosalia Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. People are invited to bring their cameras or phones.

Names on the Rosalia Season’s Greeting board are starting to appear with room still available for more names to be added. Names of family, pets, businesses and passed loved ones are given their own plaque on the club’s greeter board.

Each name plaque costs $5 and proceeds go to help the Lions Club provide aid to people in the area of Rosalia, Malden, Pine City and Plaza. Proceeds are also used for two $500 scholarships to Rosalia High School seniors and also to help residents with eye glasses and those in need of hearing aids.

The Lions Club is responsible for decorating the Town of Rosalia. They are looking for new members to join the international service club.

Longtime member Diane Nebel said they hope to attract more members to keep the group viable. There is no age range requirement.

“It’s a great way for students to get community service in their profile,” Nebel said.

The club meets the first Saturday of the month at the Red Brick Restaurant in Rosalia.

Future plans include the purchase of an electronic reader board.
