Moscow duo faces drug charges

December 5, 2019

Drug charges were filed Nov. 27 against two Moscow suspects who were arrested Nov. 19 after deputies and the Uniontown marshall responded to a report of a suspected vehicle prowl in Uniontown.

Travis Gessler, 27, and Starr M. Olson, 26, have been summoned to appear in court Dec. 13. Both reside in Moscow.

The arrest report by Deputy Tyler Langerveld said he responded Nov. 19 at 2:18 a.m. to a report of a vehicle in the Wheatland Court area of Uniontown. A low rider pickup truck had stopped in the neighborhood. The two suspects were located in the truck.

Langerveld said Gessler stepped out of the truck and his behavior indicated he had been using drugs. The report noted Gessler refused to allow deputies to search the truck, but they found a baggie along with coin change outside of where the suspect had stepped out of the vehicle. The baggie allegedly contained heroin.

The report alleged they also found a hypodermic needle in Gessler's pocket while searching him.

Olson was a passenger in the truck. She told deputies she heard change fall out of Gessler's pocket when he climbed out of the truck.

Later that day deputies located Olson in Pullman on a charge of giving false statement. The charge alleges while she was in the truck at Uniontown she used her sister's first name.

Deputies running a check on the incorrect name missed a warrant which had been issued for the suspect, Starr Olson.

The account said in a search subsequent to the arrest, deputies found methamphetamine packets on Olson.
