Harold Sauer marks 98th

Harold Sauer of Colfax celebrated his 98th birthday Nov. 6 at Whitman Health & Rehab. Sauer owned and operated Colfax Credit Bureau. He later moved to Pullman after purchasing what is now called "The State Inn" Motel, formerly known as the Manor Lodge Motel Paradise Street in downtown Pullman. Harold and his family operated the Credit Bureau for 50 years and the motel from late 1970's until early 2000's. Sauer also served in World War II as a tech staff sergeant in the US Army. Celebrating with Sauer were granddaughter Sarah McKnight and great-granddaughter Olivia Knott, both of Colfax.
