Holiday arts and crafts 14th edition set at Dahmen Barn

November 14, 2019

Dahmen Barn will host its 14th annual Holiday Arts and Crafts Gala Saturday, Nov. 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This free event features three floors of fine arts and crafts and visiting artists.

Door prizes will be given away at 12:13 p.m., 1:13 p.m., 2:13 p.m. and 3:13 p.m.

Visiting artists and craftspeople from throughout the region join resident artists selling their products. More than 23 resident artists and 18 visiting artists will be selling their items perfect for holiday gift giving.

These items include hand-dyed wool yarn, various knitted items and accessories, organic, probiotic, medicinal products, skincare, jewelry-braided in the Japanese Kumihimo style, European hand folded paper stars, handcrafted goat milk lotion, hand-sewn pins, toys and more.

Lunch, including soups and desserts, will be available for purchase.

At a make-and-take ornament table, kids or adults may make a clay ornament under the instruction of Rosalie Wold, children’s ceramic instructor. There is no cost for the first ornament under one stipulation: That you pay it forward by giving the ornament to a friend at school that needs cheering up, to an elderly neighbor or that person that is always doing something nice for everyone else. A second ornament can be made for a donation to the children’s clay program. The activity takes place 1 - 4 p.m.

Soups, breads and sweets will be available for purchase featuring recipes in the “Artisans Cookbook - a pallet of favorite recipes,” and new cookbook “Tea at the Barn.”

Copies of the cookbooks may be purchased in the gift shop. The gift shop is expanded with holiday specialty foods.
