Writer's Guild plans contest

Palouse Writers Guild has announced its first chapter writing contest. First prize will be $100, second prize a $50 Book People gift card and the third prize a $25 Book People gift card.

All entries must be postmarked by Feb. 15, 2020.

Winners will be announced June 27 during the Palouse Writers Guild Books & Brews event.

Manuscripts and judges’ rubrics will be available for pick-up after the winners are announced. Any manuscripts not collected the night of the event will be destroyed.

Judges will be librarians from the Latah County Library District and Neill Public Library.

The guild was formed in 2016. Their goal is to facilitate literary education by supporting writers’ groups, author readings, workshops, writing contests and conference attendance.
