November 7, 2019

Two charges of third degree assault and a third charge of harassment were filed Oct. 30 in superior court against Veronica Qingzhao Fan, 19, Pullman. The charges allege Fan hit occupants of an apartment with a tennis racket.

According to the Pullman Police report, officers responded Oct. 10 at about 8:20 p.m. to a report of an alleged assault at an apartment on Terre View Drive.

Residents of the apartment said Fan came out of her bedroom and complained about the noise they were making. One of the occupants allegedly sent a text to Fan after she went back into her room, and she came out with a tennis racket.

The two assault charges were cited to different victims of the alleged racket swings.

The report alleged Fan yelled, "I will stab you all to death" before going back into the bedroom.

According to the report, the occupants of the apartment said they gathered in the living room and armed themselves with pepper spray and a taser gun to be ready to defend themselves in the event Fan emerged from her bedroom again.

She has been summoned to appear in court Nov. 15.
