County tax count now at 91 percent

At the Monday Whitman County commissioner workshop, Chris Nelson, county treasurer, gave an update on this year's tax season.

Payments as of the October second-half deadline totaled approximately $17 million.

“We are currently at 91.14 percent collected on our 2019 taxes,” Nelson said. “We are moving right along the same usual path as we usually do. We generally run 92-93 percent by the end of the year.”

Through the Whitman County website, county residents can look up their taxes and also pay their taxes online. This feature can be found through the “treasurer” tab on the website....
