T-Wolves will roll to Walla Walla

Tekoa/Rosalia Timberwolves will travel to Walla Walla Friday to play DeSales in an SE football showdown. The TR team will make the trip after booking another SE win Friday with a 64-20 win over Colton on the Rosalia field.

DeSales last week rolled up a 64-6 win over Sunnyside Christian.

The Irish this year are campaigning in the 1B division after years of playing in the 2B ranks. DeSales’ actual enrollment places them in the 1B ranks, but for years they persisted in playing up in the 2B ranks.

The Timberwolves are now 4-0 in the SE league with four more games to go. Their lone loss has been to Almira/Coulee/Hartline, in a non-leaguer.

Friday against Colton, the Timberwolves rolled out a 44-0 lead in the first half with Cole Peterson scoring the first three TDs on runs of 48, 45 and 35 yards.

Garrett Naught picked off a Wildcat pass and returned it 42 yards for the fourth score.

Colton scored in the third quarter on a pass from Chris Wolf to Grant Wolf, and Chris Wolf scored the last two Wildcats TDs with a 62-yard kickoff return and a 50-yard run.

For TR, Cole Peterson finished with 163 yards on six carries, and Naught booked two receptions for 90 yards and two TDs.

QB Anthony Gehring hit three for three passing for 155 yards and three TDs

Riley McLain led the Timberwolves on defense with seven tackles and five quarterback sacks.
