New thrift store to open in St. John Oct. 1

"Re ~ New," a store of recycled clothing and other items, will open in St. John Oct. 1. The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday and the first Saturday of every month. The back room is being remodeled and will feature items with sale prices.

It will be headed by Lydia Smith, who has 34 years retail experience, and Linda Siler, a retired St. John teacher. It is a nonprofit organization that will be sustained by donations from the community and run by the St. John Historical Society and local volunteers.
