Construction is underway for the new dental office located on the east side of Fairview across from Whitman Health & Rehab.

A Palouse River Rock crew from Colfax this week started excavation for the new office building which will house the dental practice of Dr. Matt Mellor. The new office building will be located on the east side of Fairview across from Whitman Health & Rehab.

The crew is now excavating into the hillside for the building. Material excavated from the building site is being hauled south and deposited at a site below the north side of the former Community Bible Church which is now part of Catalyst Church. The fill will be used to extend the parking lot.

The entry road to Hill-Ray Plaza separates the two sites.

The new office building will be 100 X 150 feet with two levels, each with 5,000 square feet of space. The dental office will be on the top floor, and lease space on the bottom floor, according to the city building permit.

Spokane Architect Seven Radkey has designed the building, and Silvey Construction of Spokane will be the general contractor. Cost estimate on the structure is $1 million.

Dr. Mellor has purchased the dental practice of Dr. Allen Kirkpatrick and is now practicing at the Main Street office. Dr. Kirkpatrick retired at the end of June.
