Commission Public Hearing
The public is notified of a Planning Commission public hearing to be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at 7 p.m. in the Auditorium, first floor of the Whitman County Public Service Building. The reason for the hearing is to add five new definitions to the Critical Areas Ordinance. Persons requiring ADA accommodation should advise us of that need. Interested persons may submit written comments regarding the proposed code amendments to the County Planning Office, P.O. NOTICE OF A MITIGATED DETERMINATION OF NONSIGNIFICANCE (M-DNS)
Whitman County Planning issued a Mitigated Determination of Nonsignificance (M-DNS) under the State Environmental Policy Act Rules (Chapter 197-11 WAC) for the following project: Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute proposes trail work and a pedestrian bridge replacement project at the Rose Creek Nature Preserve on Shawnee Road. The site is located approximately 2.6 miles north east of Albion, in the SE 1⁄4 of Section 36, Township 16 N., Range 44 E., W.M., Whitman County, Washington. The project lies within a 14-acre nature conservancy parcel on the east side of Shawnee Road. After review of a completed environmental checklist and other information on file with us, the Planning Office has determined that this proposal will not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment. Copies of the M-DNS are available at no charge from the County Planning Office, Whitman County Public Service Building (2nd Floor), N. 310 Main St., Colfax, WA 99111. Interested persons may submit environmentally-focused written comments on the SEPA decision by 5:00 PM on Thursday, September 26, 2019, to the County Planning Office, P.O. Each proposal shall be separately sealed in an envelope addressed to the Whitman County Board of County Commissioners with the name of the bidder and the project name written plainly on the outside of the envelope. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Whitman County Commissioners have set the date of Monday, September 30, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. in their Chambers, Courthouse, Colfax, WA, for proposed amendment #3 to the 2019 Whitman County budget. At that time, it is requested all department heads/elected officials requesting an amendment be present. The total amount of the proposed amended budget is approximately $65,000,000.
