September 5, 2019

A last, free boater education course for 2019 will be offered on Sept. 10-11, Tuesday and Wednesday in Pullman. The seven-hour class covers the basic rules of safe boating. The course will be taught by Whitman County Sheriff’s Deputy John Guidice, from material developed specifically for the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission.

The course will be run from 6 to 9:30 p.m. both nights at the Pioneer Center, 240 SE Dexter in Pullman. Attendance at both nights is necessary to complete the course.

“Adventures in Boating Washington, A Course on Responsible Boating” manual and exam will be given. State law requires Washington residents born on or after Jan. 1, 1955 to carry a boater education card when operating motorized boats of 15 horsepower or greater.

The boater safety class may also be completed online. For more information, visit http://www.parks.wa.gov/boating.
