Hill-Ray Plaza issues update

Hill-Ray Plaza conducted its annual meeting in March. After the meeting, the board held a mini-meeting and Milt Groom was re-elected president and Dan Morris was elected vice president.

Hill-Ray has been busy this summer with reunions of families and classes, including the class of ‘69 and ‘54. As the summer has progressed, the old shrubs have been removed along with several trees and it has opened up the view over town. Not only has it opened the view, Hill-Ray will now be expanding available parking for future events.

At the June board meeting Groom announced his resignation from the board. At the following meeting in July, Dan Morris was elected president and John Kromm was elected vice president. Jim Britton was also welcomed as a new board member.

At the meeting Administrator Gary Young announced both new guest rooms and guest meals will increase in cost, effective Sept. 1.

In August, a special dinner not only celebrated the birthday individuals, but also as a “thank you” for past service to Hill-Ray. Young presented gifts to Groom and former maintenance worker Stephen Greenhalgh. Kirk Schmick played music for the evening.

Sunday brunch will be at Hill-Ray Sept. 8, from 11.a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
