Library closure set for next week

All 14 branches of Whitman County Library will be closed Aug. 5 through Aug. 11 for annual maintenance. During teh closure, projects that are difficult to complete when the library is open will be done.

This year most of the major work is set for Colfax where carpets and windows will be cleaned and an aging phone system upgraded.

Preparations for a library "garage sale" will take place. The sale in The Center will run Aug. 12 through Aug. 30 during regular library hours and will also coincide with the Colfax community-wide yard sale set for Aug. 16 through Aug. 18.

During the library's week-long closure, due dates for library materials have been extended and no late fines will be charged.
