Mills takes 19th in tie-down at NHS Rodeo

Lance Mills of St. John finished 19th in tie-down roping at the 71st annual National High School Finals Rodeo in Rock Springs, Wyo., July 14-20.

He was one of four names from Whitman County among competitors from the United States, Mexico, Australia and Canada. Mills is a 2019 graduate of St. John/Endicott High School.

Wesley Castanon, a 2019 Oakesdale graduate, finished 41st at Nationals in saddlebronc, with one qualified ride.

Sydney Berquist, a junior-to-be at Colfax High School, finished 45th in breakaway roping.
