Paintings at Hengen's barn

Friends of the Whitman County Library recently attended a presentation by Nona Hengen in her gallery and restored heritage barn. Hengen of Spangle is a teacher, historian and accomplished artist who estimates she's painted more than 1,000 works in her lifetime. The Library Friends, Tekoa PEO Club and area residents attended. After the reception, the group motored to the Rosalia Library for a tour followed by lunch at the newly reopened Red Brick Café. Now on hiatus, the Friends' next meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 11 a.m. in the Colfax branch....
