Richard Olson

The funeral for Richard (Dick) Olson, 80, native resident of Colfax, was Monday, July 8, at 1 p.m. at the Colfax Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Don Moore officiating. Burial was in the Colfax Cemetery.

Mr. Olson died Thursday, July 4, 2019, at Pullman Regional Hospital.

One of eight children born to Rudolph (Rube) and Irene Charboneau Olson, he served for 26 years in the United States Marine Corps and during the Vietnam era served in the artillery division of the Marines.

He and Teri Tamamura were married in Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 15, 1966.

After his honorable discharge and return to Colfax, he worked as a custodian for Washington State University until his retirement.

His wife preceded him in death in 2003.

Surviving are one son, Ryo (Dawn) Olson of Ritzville, and three siblings Debra Allen, Edward Olson and Ron Olson, all of Colfax.

Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax was in charge of the arrangements.
