Planet Fitness will occupy Ace

A new Planet Fitness will move into the former Pullman Ace Hardware building that was sold in mid-June.

Planet Fitness purchased the building with a partner and will lease 15,000 square feet from the investor, while a different tenant will lease the remaining 12,000 square feet.

Justin Rasmussen of Palouse Commercial Real Estate said Planet Fitness has been very active with getting started.

The former Ace building was purchased for $3.1 million by Pullman RE LLC, Seattle, from Sawrus LLC, Dayton, according to a real estate transfer tax affidavit.

Paul and Jan Strohbehn of Dayton operated the Pullman Ace for more than 10 years and announced plans to close the business down last October.

The Strohbehns commuted from Dayton to Pullman during the time they operated the Pullman Ace. They purchased the building in 2007.

Before becoming an Ace Hardware Store, Safeway occupied the building, then moved to Bishop Blvd.
