All fourteen branches of Whitman County Library are closed for Independence Day, but our website, ebooks, Lynda: online training, and Mango Languages are always available for your convenience.

Endicott & Albion – 4th of July Parade – Join the library in celebrating at these local towns.

Friday, July 5

Uniontown – 10:30 a.m. – Constellations – Make constellation viewers and a galaxy bottle to take home!

Malden – 12:30 to 2 p.m. – Caregiver Support Group – Resources and support for those caring for loved ones.

St. John – 1 p.m. – Writer’s Working Group – All skill levels are invited to share their work and ideas.

Saturday, July 6

Colfax – Art Show – Exciting collection of paintings and photography in the Libey Gallery (during open hours)

Palouse – 2 p.m. – Movie Afternoon – Watch a group of intergalactic criminals save the universe (Rated PG-13)

Malden – 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. – Potluck BBQ – Bring a side to share (hot dogs provided) and enjoy the nice weather.

Monday, July 8

St. John – 10 a.m. – Junior Summer Reading – Bring in your little ones for out-of-this-world early learning.

Colton Park – 10:30 a.m. – Joshua J. Superstar – Be entertained by Joshua balancing a ladder on his face while riding a six-foot-tall unicycle and more crazy stunts!

Colfax – 10 to 11:30 a.m. – Maker Mondays – Kids can code, build LEGOS, STEAM make-n-takes, and more!

LaCrosse – 12:30 to 2 p.m. – Pie & Bingo – Enjoy a fun, free program with friends and sweet treats.

Colfax – 6 to 7 p.m. – Black Holes – How are they formed? How big can one get? Where happens to things that get sucked in? Learn all about this astronomical phenomenon that no particle, not even light can escape!

Tuesday, July 9

Colfax – 4 to 6 p.m. – Food Assistance – Community Action Center shares area food resources and programs.

Colfax, Farmington, Palouse – Take me to your Readers – Explore our solar system in “A Universe of Stories.”

Tekoa – 2 to 8 p.m. – Virtual Reality – Travel to Africa, climb Mt. Everest, or visit Mars in the library!

Endicott – 5:30 p.m. – Joshua J. Superstar – Bring the whole family for side-splitting comedy and nail-biting stunts.

Wednesday, July 10

Colfax – Fitness Classes – Intensati at 9 a.m., Move it or Lose it at 11 a.m., Boot Camp at Sch. Park at 6 p.m.

Colfax & Tekoa – Virtual Reality – Explore the Space Station, visit Australia, or save the world at the library. Albion, Tekoa, Uniontown – Take me to your Readers – Discover, learn, create all things space and science!

LaCrosse City Park & St. John Library – Joshua J Superstar – Side-splitting comedy, nail-biting stunts, and more.

Garfield Park – 2 p.m. – Nerf Battle – All ages welcome to test their skills in our obstacle course.

Colfax – 3 to 10 p.m. – Beat the Heat Crop & Create! – Bring your scrapbooking and let’s get creative together!

Thursday, July 11

Colton, Malden, Palouse, Rosalia, Tekoa – To the Library & Beyond! – Come to the library for STELLAR fun.

Tekoa – 1 to 5:30 p.m. – Virtual Reality – Draw in 3D, play with a robot, see a T-Rex up close, and more!

Rosalia – 5 p.m. – Teen Advisory Council – Help decide activities for teens here at library.

Colton & Rosalia – Book Club – Enjoy interesting literary discussions and spend time with friends.
