Asbestos removal done at CHS

The first part of asbestos removal at Colfax Junior-Senior High School was finished Monday.

“Construction is moving along, going great,” Jerry Pugh, superintendent, told the school board Monday night.

An asbestos abatement crew of 10 finished that morning in the auditorium.

“The cement is the cleanest cement you’ve ever seen,” Pugh said.

Abatement for the first half of phase one of construction is now complete – library, home economics room, auditorium and south second floor wing. The asbestos abatement work will resume for other parts of the building this summer.
