Tayma Vanek earns DAR honors

Esther Reed Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution presented Tayma Vanek of Colfax a Good Citizen Award and Scholarship April 13. The Good Citizen scholarship winner is selected from senior high school students nominated by their high school and represents qualities of service, dependability, leadership and patriotism. The Esther Reed chapter receives nominations from schools in southern Spokane and portions of Whitman County. Tayma’s winning nomination and essay also received one of the top finalist placings in the state.
