Colton books split at Moses Lake

Colton Wildcats booked a split Tuesday on a road trip to Big Bend Community College at Moses Lake. The boys dropped the LRS Broncos 11-1 in the first game and bowed to Warden 10-15 in the second game.

Jon Bean struck out seven Broncos on the way to a win in the first game which went into the books after five innings. He allowed two hits.

Bean fanned the last two Bronco batters after LRS loaded the bases in the bottom of the fifth inning and threatened escape defeat on the 10-run rule.

Kiah Ankerson, Luke Vining and Parker Druffel each had two hits for Colton.

Colton scored five runs in each of the first two innings and added one in the third to lead 11-0.

Colton had three errors in the opener, and the Broncos totaled six errors.

Against Warden, Colton trailed 2-9 after three frames, but rolled for seven runs in the third to avoid an early shutdown.

Reece Chadwick had two hits with a triple, and Chris Wolf added a triple to top the seven-hit Colton offense. Jackson Meyer had two hits.

Chadwick started on the mound for Colton, and Meyer finished.

The game totaled 14 errors with eight booked by Colton.
