Brenda Stav joins Port staff

Brenda Stav has been named the Port of Whitman's new communications and media coordinator. Stav moved to Pullman from Seattle four years ago with her husband, Brett, when he got a job at Washington State University.

She grew up in Walla Walla and attended WSU where she earned a bachelors of arts in hotel and restaurant administration.

Stav has worked for a variety of non-profits in communications and publications work. She worked the previous 11 years for the Life Sciences Discovery Fund which issued grants related to the life sciences industry.

Stav, who is very interested in economic development, applied for the port position knowing she would have a diverse workload.

"I was also very interested to get to know more about the area I'm living in," she commented.

Stav will be managing the Snake River Family Festival this summer. Plans are already underway for the event which will be June 8 at Boyer Park and Marina. The free family friendly event offers activities for kids and live music featuring Sammy Eubanks.
