Great job!

February 21, 2019

I would like to tip my hat to the Colfax High School staff and students for their generous hospitality in allowing the Southeast District 9 1B schools to hold their district tournament at the high school last Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It begins as soon as you walk in the door and are greeted with a smile and assistance from Janel Stirling and the other office staff. Next, the willingness and flexibility of superintendent Jerry Pugh and principal Carrie Lipe allowed us in the school and let us adjust our dates when weather created a problem from the original dates. This was very much appreciated. Also the classes and teams adjusted their regular routines to accommodate our early arrival on Thursday so the gym could be set up and ready for our event.

I would also like to give a special nod to Athletic Director Nathan Holbrook. He really went out of his way to work with me. This included numerous planning meetings, phone conversations, emails and texts throughout the whole process. Nathan walked me through the facility showing me where everything was that I needed. He made sure all areas were set up and ready for use. Throughout the tournament, he was available to assist and made sure that everything ran as smoothly as possible.

Our District 9 Tournament was a successful one due to the generosity and assistance from everyone at Colfax High School.

Much appreciation to our great neighbor and an outstanding school.

District 9 Tournament Manager
