Martha Maier

Martha Huffman Maier, 90, was born Sept. 18, 1928. She was born and raised in Hooper, Wash., and graduated from high school in 1946. Martha married Vern Maier in 1950.

She is survived by her three sons; Ed, Howard (Nancy), Duane (Rita); two grandsons; and five great-grandchildren. She is survived by her two brothers, Robert and Mike. Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Vern; and her sisters, Betty, Bonnie and Harriett.

She was a "worker-bee," and a secretary for Vern with his business. She loved to fish, and taught her three boys how to fish. She liked quilting and gardening, and was a great cook. She helped out tremendously with FFA, and was a wedding planner for years at the Methodist church.

Martha had a great zest for life, and was loved by everyone who knew her.

At Martha's request, a graveside service in LaCrosse will be announced at a later date for close family.
