TR boys top Wildcats, face Dragons

Tekoa/Rosalia boys, who landed in the south side number-five slot after a loss to Asotin Friday, defeated Wilbur/Creston 69-51 in first round action at the NE district show at West Valley on Tuesday. The Timberwolves will face St. George's, the 18-2 champions on the north side of the NE, today in the quarter-final round at 3:30.

The Wolves staked a 34-18 lead over WC at the half Tuesday and kept on rolling for the win. Craig Mueller hit 22 and Riley McLain hit 16 in the big win.

Other scorers for TR were Garrett Naught eight, Noah Beach 11, Anthony Gehring 7, Keegan French 3, and Kenneth Lenoir 2.

Asotin topped TR 82-55 in the last league round Friday to drop TR into number five slot with a 4-6 league mark.

Mueller hit 16 at Asotin, and McLain hit 12.

Tekoa/Rosalia girls, playing in the number-six slot, lost to St. George's 52-20 on Tuesday in the first round at West Valley. They were topped 47-34 at Asotin in the last league game Friday.

Scoring at WV were Hannah Thies 6, Emily Kramer 2, Megan Billings 3, Elise Wilkins 5, and Tori McLain 4.

Scoring at Asotin were Theis 7, Paige Brown 1, Delani Lehn 4, Kramer 3, Billings 2, Wilkins 9 and McLain 4.
